Francis Lee‘s feature film Ammonite, scored by Dustin O’Halloran and Volker Bertelmann (aka Hauschka), is being screened at the Toronto International Film Festival and is eligible for the people’s Choice Award.

The film stars the talented Kate Winslet and Saoirse Ronan, and is a love story set in the 19th century on the windswept Lyme Regis coastline.

It has received rave reviews, with the Telegraph calling it “one of the finest films of the year”, and the Guardian describing the fossil-hunting biopic as “a love story that is also a fascinating artefact: quixotic, romantic, erotic”.

Variety predicts that “the talented composing duo of Dustin O’Halloran and Volker Bertelmann, who found attention in 2016 for ‘Lion’ from the Academy, is firmly in the conversation for another nomination for the subtle, more refined composition.”

Dustin O’Halloran and Hauschka have joined forces again, this time to score The Old Guard.

The Old Guard was directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood, and stars Charlize Theron and Chiwetel Ejiofor. It is an adaptation of Greg Rucka and Leonardo Fernandez’ graphic novels, and tells the story of a covert team of immortal mercenaries who must fight to keep their identity a secret, just as an unexpected new member is discovered.

The Old Guard will premiere on July 10th on Netflix.

The gripping thriller TV series, created by and starring Lennie James, continues the story of a man’s quest to discover what happened to his missing daughter.

Hauschka and Dustin O’Halloran will score Francis Lee’s new film Ammonite, starring Kate Winslet and Saoirse Ronan.

The film, set in 1800s England, centers on an infamous fossil hunter and an unwelcome guest she has been entrusted to care for. Despite clashing, the two develop an intense relationship, altering their lives forever.

Dustin O’Halloran has released a new solo EP ‘Sundoor‘.

The 2017 site-specific composition created for the American artist Slater Bradley’s exhibition ‘Sundoor at World’s End’ during the Venice Biennale is a 20-minute piece entitled ‘196 Hz’.

Dustin O’Halloran and Hauschka are scoring the upcoming BBC and FX miniseries A Christmas Carol.

The three-part series, based on Charles Dickens’ novella, is written by Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders) and stars Guy Pearce.

Dustin O’Halloran and Hauschka are collaborating to score Netflix’s action film The Old Guard.

Based on the comic book series by Greg Rucka and illustrator Leandro Fernández, the film will be directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood and star Charlize Theron and KiKi Layne.

Dustin O’Halloran and  Adam Bryanbaum Wiltzie from A Winged Victory for the Sullen are composing the music for a new production called Invisible Cities by the Manchester International Festival.

The immersive performance is in collaboration with 59 Productions and includes theater, dance, architectural design and visuals.

Dustin O’Halloran and Hauschka are once again collaborating on a new score. The Art of Racing in the Rain, based on the bestselling novel by Garth Stein, is directed by Simon Curtis, and stars Amanda Seyfried and Milo Ventimiglia. It tells a tale from the perspective of a family dog who has deep insight into the human condition by observing his master’s life.

The film release date is set for September 27, 2019 (US).

Dustin O’Halloran will perform at the Solidarity of Arts festival in Gdansk on August 24th, 2018.

The festival is focused around the theme of ‘sovereignty’, bringing together noteworthy arts events ranging from film and live music to art installations and workshops.

The concert on August 24th will be a two-part concert of post-classical music, beginning with creative duo Emilie Levienaise-Farrouch and Resina, and followed by Dustin O’Halloran and a string quartet.

In the past few months Dustin O’Halloran has been working on the score for Garth Davis’ new film Lion together with Hauschka.

Lion, starring Rooney Mara, Nicole Kidman and Dev Patel, is based on the true story of Saroo Brierley, who used Google Maps to track down the family he left in India when he was adopted by an Australian couple at age five. The film will be out in theaters in November of this year.

After releasing a first glimpse in the form of the ‘Atomos VII’ EP earlier this year, A Winged Victory For The Sullen finally reveal their second full-length album entitled ‘ATOMOS’, out on Erased Tapes Records and Kranky on October 6, 2014.

A Winged Victory For The Sullen, Dustin O’Halloran’s project with Adam Wiltzie (‘Stars Of The Lid’), announce their second full length album titled ‘ATOMOS’. ‘ATOMOS’ is also the full score to Wayne McGregor’s (Random Dance) newest dance piece.

‘ATOMOS’ will be released via Kranky & Erased Tapes on October 6.

Dustin O’Halloran has contributed to Red Hot’s latest compilation album ‘Red Hot + Bach’, which features 29 original Bach reinventions. Among the contributing composers are Max Richter, Mia Doi Todd and Shara Worden. The album also includes an interactive iPad app that allows users to listen to and interact with Bach’s music.
